The high profile pair spent six weeks in Canada between November 2019 and January 2020 before making their shocking move from Frogmore Cottage permanent by snagging a home in sunny California.
Shortly after, it was announced they would officially be leaving their royal roles in February 2020.
"Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service," a statement announcing their split read. "While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family."

October 2020: The Launch Of The Archewell Foundation
Several months after they settled down to their busy lives in California, the not-so-royal duo unveiled the bare bones website for their charitable venture, The Archewell Foundation. They also detailed the reasons behind their decision for the moniker and how it had inspired their son's name.
"Before SussexRoyal came the idea of 'arche' — the Greek word meaning 'source of action,' we connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day," they explained in a statement. "And it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters."
