Britney Spears Uses an Emoji to Cover Up Wardrobe Malfunction as She Dances Around in Short White Dress: Watch

Britney Spears may have had a wardrobe malfunction, but it was nothing an emoji couldn't fix.

The "Toxic" artist, 44, appeared unfazed as she danced in a short, white dress in a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, September 1.

During the clip, Spears danced seductively to Ennly Blue's sultry blues song "Through My Soul."

The Crossroads actress sported a mini dress with cap sleeves, a black lace choker and clog heels, wearing her long blonde hair in crimped waves as she showed off her dance moves.

But things quickly grew racy, with the singer needing a rose emoji to censor the moment her dress rode up too high.

Spears offered no context for the video, instead sharing a cryptic caption that began, "House of blues / Who am I to complain?"

She continued, "But I am only human / And my heart knows / There’s a difference / In this pain / I feel so spiritual / Beyond a miracle / To align with red / And say I’m not dead / The rose of seal / Child within knows / And will steal all their hearts /Like they stole mine."

Spears' cryptic post comes just days after New Girl creator Elizabeth Meriwether confirmed that a biopic on the musician's life was making progress.

"I'm really at the beginning of the process of thinking about it," the showrunner said in an interview with Vanity Fair on August 31. "But I do feel like what she experienced was pretty unique for the moment that it was happening, almost a perfect storm of attention and new forms of media."

Spears documented her rise to fame in the 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, which explored her rise to fame as a teen, relationships, motherhood and the 13-year conservatorship she was in until November 2021.

The memoir became an instant best seller after its release, with Universal Pictures acquiring rights to the novel in August 2024. Spears confirmed at the time that she would be working on the project, with Wicked's Jon M. Chu set to direct.

The showrunner explained that the movie felt especially timely, given the recent reconsideration of how culture treated women in the early 2000s.

"You find yourself in these conversations and everything seems normal, and then you go back 10 years later and look at that conversation and the whole foundation of it was wrong," she told the outlet. "I do think it’s the right time for this movie and the right moment to be looking back and thinking about it. I’m almost exactly her age, and I’m really excited to think about how to retell that story."
