Britney Spears shaded ex-husband Kevin Federline while looking back at her earlier years in Hollywood.
On Wednesday, April 1, the singer shared a few screenshots from a previous gig on Saturday Night Live and tellingly captioned the Instagram post, "Remember me when I use to be in show business before my marriage 😂😂😂 !!!"
When Did Britney Spears and Kevin Federline Start Dating?
Britney Spears made a social media post about how her career was thriving before she got married.
"PS…Gotta love my fans 🤔😂 !!! I never knew about these !!!" she added to the upload, which showed her in costume alongside comedians like Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon.
Spears met Federline in 2004, and the two got married the same year, with critics feeling that the former backup dancer was a bad influence on the vocalist.
The Woman in Me author's career and reputation was never the same after they got together, as she welcomed their two sons in 2005 and 2006 and then suffered a mental breakdown in 2007 — the year they divorced — that led to her controversial 13-year conservatorship.
Kevin Federline Made Shocking Accusations Against the Singer
The singer was married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007.
The pop star's comment came a few months after the DJ, 48, published his memoir, You Thought You Knew, where he made several shocking allegations against his ex-spouse, 44.
In the October 2025 tome, Federline claimed Spears once hovered over one of their sleeping sons with a knife and alleged she favored son Jayden James, 19, over Sean Preston Federline, 20. He even said the singer once allegedly punched their firstborn in the face.
In addition, Kevin said she used drugs while breastfeeding.

The singer has reunited with both of her sons after years of estrangement.
Amid Britney's personal troubles, the sons began to live with their dad, and the superstar was reportedly forced to pay her ex $40K per month in child support.
While Britney has acted erratically over the years, things came to a head in March 2026, as she was pulled over and arrested for a DUI. The star is due in court on May 4.
Kevin Federline Trashed the Pop Star in His Memoir
The former dancer made shocking claims about his ex-wife, including that she allegedly punched one of their sons.
As OK! reported, an insider told an outlet that her ex's memoir was what "really sent her over the edge, and it’s been downhill from there."
"It really impacted her emotionally," they added.
The mom-of-two's manager spoke out after the arrest, expressing, "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
