Britney Spears Wants To Marry Fiancé Sam Asghari 'As Soon As Possible' Following Engagement
Britney Spears can’t wait to tie the knot.
According to a source close to the music icon, the 39-year-old is counting down the days until she can call her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari her husband.
"[Spears] wants to get married as soon as possible,” the source told PEOPLE.
The source also added that Spears is already thinking up plans for her big day after only being engaged for a few days.
“She would love a beach ceremony at a tropical destination,” the source said. “It will be a small wedding.”
Asghari surprised the pop superstar with a ring on Sunday, September 12 at the singer’s Los Angeles home.
The source explained that while Spears “knew the engagement was coming,” it was “still a surprise.”
“Sam proposed at her house, and she loves the ring. She is ecstatic,” the source also added.

The rock, which was designed by New York City jeweler Roman Malayev of Forever Diamonds, is a 4-carat round-cut diamond in a platinum cathedral setting. It is also engraved with the word “Lioness,” representing the model’s nickname for his bride-to-be.
Spears took to Instagram to share the news with a sweet montage video showing off her new bling, writing, “I can’t f**king believe it 💍💍💍💍💍💍❣️!!!!!!” in the caption.
Just days after Spears shared the news on social media, she deleted her entire Instagram page on Tuesday, September 14. However, an insider told OK! that “Britney’s Instagram is down temporarily,” and that it “won’t be forever.”
The singer’s upcoming wedding to Asghari will mark her third marriage. She exchanged vows with Jason Alexander in a quickie 2004 Las Vegas wedding, and was married to ex Kevin Federline for two years before they divorced in 2006. Spears shares her two sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with Federline.
Alexander recently spoke out after the news of the engagement made headlines, where he told Inside Edition’s Jim Moret that he just wants his ex-wife to be happy.
“I’m trying to be as nice as I can,” he said when asked about Asghari. “He’s the only person that’s been around for a few years, so without him she would’ve been alone."
“I’ve always loved her. I’m always going to love her,” he confessed. “If she’s happy with Sam and that’s going to happen, I’m happy for her.”
