Darius Rucker has spoken!
The 55-year-old country crooner broke his silence regarding his ex, comedian Kate Quigley’s shocking near-fatal overdose earlier this month.
“You know, she's doing great. She's coming out of that,” he spilled at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday. “I'm glad that she's doing that.”
“My heart goes out to all the other victims, but [Quigley] is doing okay,” the Hootie & the Blowfish vocalist said, reported PEOPLE. Rucker and the comedian dated for much of 2020 following the “Wagon Wheel” singer’s divorce.
As OK! previously reported, Quigley was hospitalized after a suspected fentanyl-laced cocaine overdose at a party in Venice, Calif. on Friday, September 3.
LAPD officers arrived at a home in the stunning beach town and found three people dead, including stand-up comedian Fuquan Johnson, Natalie Williamson and Enrico Colangeli.
Officer Mike Lopez said there “was no indication of foul play” and they suspected the victims overdosed on a tainted bag of coke.
The 39-year-old The Office alum spoke out while she was still in recovery following the harrowing ordeal thanking her fans for their support.
“I'm gonna be ok. Still in hospital, recovering slowly,” she tweeted on Wednesday, September 8. “♥ Thanks so much to everyone who has reached out!!! It really has made a difference. Truly.”
She was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, September 11, and appears to be on the mend as she was spotted around Los Angeles days later.
OK! reported Quigley was seen cruising around in her convertible and stopping at a barbershop for a brief chat, before getting back on the road.
The blonde beauty seemed to be on the up and up, as she sported a casual outfit for her day out, wearing a black graphic T-shirt, cut-off jean shorts, a baseball cap and flip flops.
