Dick Van Dyke explained that he exercises three days per week.

Van Dyke opened up about the pillars of staying fit and keeping active leading up to his 100th birthday last year.

“I’ve always exercised three days a week,” he said on Ted Danson’s podcast, "Where Everybody Knows Your Name." “[My wife and I] go to the gym still, and I think that’s why I’m not stove up as my equals."

The actor revealed that he consistently does sit-ups, stretches and practices yoga. He also credits his positive mindset for his longevity.

"I have stubbornly refused to give in to the bad stuff in life," he noted. "Failures and defeats, personal losses, loneliness and bitterness, the physical and emotional pains of aging."

Dick Van Dyke shared that he 'feels good' at 100.

In November 2025, he told People that he still "feels good."

"I feel really good for 100,” he explained. “Sometimes I have more energy than others — but I never wake up in a bad mood. I feel like I’m about 13."

Van Dyke lives in Malibu, Calif., with his wife Arlene Silver and has largely retired from acting aside from a few projects and cameos here and there. The star appreciates every day and has no fear about what comes next.

Death doesn’t really frighten me,” he said on Good Morning America. "Although I’d like a lot more life!"
