President Donald Trump publicly praised Vice President J.D. Vance's physical transformation, calling him a "perfect-looking specimen" following his recent weight loss.
“J.D. Vance, is J.D. here? J.D.! He's lost weight. He got a little thinner. I'm looking for a heavy-set gentleman, and now I find a perfect specimen,” the president admitted during a White House Easter luncheon on Wednesday, April 1.
Trump also joked about taking "full credit" if a "big deal" Vance was working on succeeded.
Donald Trump fawned over J.D. Vance's body.
In August 2024, Vance stated he had lost approximately 30 pounds since his 2022 Senate campaign, attributing the weight loss to diet and exercise rather than weight-loss medication, as some people suspected.
The president’s praise follows a viral moment from January, when Trump told a story in a Cabinet meeting about a "seriously overweight" friend who used "the fat shot" (GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic).
Vance famously interjected at the time, "He's not talking about me," to laughter from the room.

Donald Trump previously said he should consider taking a weight loss drug.
Trump himself has recently mentioned in interviews that he "probably should" consider taking a weight loss drug like Wegovy or Ozempic.
Vance's appearance has undergone a notable transformation, particularly since he began aligning with Trump, shifting from a clean-shaven, "tech-bro" look to a more traditional, bearded political figure often described as "Trumpian.”
The veep has been widely mocked for appearing to wear eyeliner, a claim his wife Usha Vance denies.

J.D. Vance might run for president in 2028.
Donald’s praise of J.D.’s appearance was immediately seized upon by social media commenters, with one saying, “Can’t tell if he’s jealous, hitting on him, or mad that the women he surrounds himself with might find another man more attractive.”
“For a guy who wears makeup, fake hair, shoulder pads, heels and a diaper, he sure does care about people’s looks,” observed another.
Another noted that J.D. is tending to his appearance as the 2028 presidential election inches closer.
“J.D. meth-starving himself was a political move because he and his advisors saw Newsom mogging him,” quipped a commenter about comely Democratic presidential frontrunner, California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
