President Donald Trump routinely insists that his Secret Service detail eat hot dogs while accompanying him on his golf courses, and his club then bills the government agency for the food.

According to an investigative report published by Forbes journalist Dan Alexander, the ritual stems from Trump's intense personal pride in the quality of the hot dogs served at his properties, such as the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

A former golf club staffer said Donald Trump has a 'very odd pride' about their hot dogs.

“He has this weird, very odd pride about how good the hot dogs are,” a former club worker told Forbes. “The chef has to be out there. And he’s like, ‘Chef, get everyone a hot dog — all these guys.’”

The report says as many as 30 golf carts of agents consume up to 50 hot dogs.

Because federal agents are strictly forbidden from accepting personal gifts, the Trump-owned facilities process the food as an official expense and bill the Secret Service directly. This loop effectively drives federal taxpayer dollars directly back into Trump's private businesses.

The report noted that Donald Trump's hot dog routine puts money back in his own pocket.

Trump orders the food for his entourage and security detail. The club then charges the Secret Service account for the food.

“There, in one all-beef transaction, is the Trump presidency in miniature,” Alexander noted. “Trump owns the club. Trump controls the chef. Trump doles out the hot dogs. Trump watches everyone eat them. Then Trump’s business sends the government the bill.”

Former staffers noted that some health-conscious agents secretly coordinate with the kitchen staff to prepare smaller portions to avoid eating the heavy meals.

Some Secret Service agents allegedly ask for healthier meals.

Alexander quipped that some agents “secretly arrange for slimmed-down dogs — an act of insubordination coordinated directly with the chef.”

While the White House did not explicitly deny the billing mechanism, a spokesperson defended the president's extensive golf schedule by saying his work ethic is "unmatched" and noting he routinely holds meetings and fundraisers while visiting his properties.

'Forbes' claimed the POTUS has spent more than 1.400 hours at golf clubs this term.

According to Forbes, Trump has visited one of his golf properties on roughly 165 of about 600 days since returning to office, spending more than 1,400 hours at them.

The hot dog controversy is part of a broader, ongoing criticism regarding how much taxpayer money is funneled into Trump-owned properties.

Watchdog groups estimate that his frequent golf trips have cost taxpayers nearly $185 million during his current term alone because of the massive logistics, travel, and housing costs required to secure private courses.
