Former White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews stated that Donald Trump's 2024 campaign staff grew so deeply concerned over his relationship with aide Natalie Harp that they tried to ban her from staying at his Bedminster, N.J., golf club, leading Harp to sleep in a women's locker room instead.
Matthews made these claims during a Monday broadcast of CNN's Laura Coates Live, shedding light on what she characterized as extreme "sycophancy" surrounding the former president.
Campaign staff recognized the relationship between Trump and Harp as "weird."
Inside Natalie Harp's 'Alarming Behavior'

Sarah Matthews claimed Secret Service was 'alarmed' by Natalie Harp's behavior.
"They tried to get her to not stay at Bedminster that summer while they were on the campaign trail, because even campaign staff recognized that it was a weird relationship between the two," Matthews said.
To bypass the campaign staff's restrictions, Harp reportedly found a loophole by living in the club's women's locker room all summer long.
"So what did Natalie Harp do? She found a workaround. She stayed in the women's locker room all summer long. So I think that it's fair to point out the sycophancy of her in particular, and their close relationship,” Matthews spilled.

Natalie Harp reportedly slept in the women's locker room of Donald Trump's golf club in order to be close to the POTUS.
Matthews noted that Harp's constant, intense proximity to Trump not only unnerved campaign leadership but also "alarmed" the Secret Service details tasked with managing his security boundaries.
Matthews' public comments were prompted by a campaign rally the previous Sunday, where Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff explicitly singled out Harp.
Ossoff publicly criticized Trump, accusing him of prioritizing "traveling with Natalie" over fulfilling his actual duties.

Sarah Matthews said many campaign staffers thought Natalie Harp's relationship with Donald Trump was 'weird.'
“He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn't want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar,” the rising Democratic star said.
When asked about Harp by MS NOW host Jen Psaki, Ossoff said he heard her described as the president’s security blanket — a statement loosely derived from Regime Change author and New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman, who described Harp as Trump’s human "binky” or “comfort blanket.”
The Aide's Actions 'Freaked Out' Staffers

Natalie Harp allegedly left Donald Trump 'adoring letters' in 'personal spaces.'
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles was also reportedly "confounded" and "unsettled" by Harp’s extreme devotion and constant, unfiltered access to Trump.
Haberman revealed Wiles' internal reactions to Harp's actions in their bombshell bestseller.
“When Harp was leaving adoring letters in Trump's personal spaces — including notes that read ‘You are all that matters to me’ and ‘I want to bring you joy’ — Wiles was deeply freaked out. The letters reportedly left a disturbed Wiles asking herself, ‘Where am I?’" the authors reported.
