Arsonist Sets Gay Porn Star's Entire Home Ablaze While He Was Sleeping Inside — See Photos Of The Shocking Aftermath
Queer adult film star and activist Matthew Camp’s home was intentionally set ablaze in what he is calling a “hate crime.”
“January 14, 2021. An arsonist poured gasoline on the front porch of my home and set it on fire in an apparent hate crime,” he wrote on Instagram. “I was asleep inside. I am alive to face this person one day but everything I have ever owned is gone.”
The home located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was maliciously set on fire by an individual carrying two containers of gasoline onto the porch of the house shortly before 5 a.m., according to surveillance footage. The masked figure is shown splashing gas on the porch, lighting it, then fleeing the scene.
The stunning abode was a part of history in the area, dubbed the “Halloween House.” Prior to Camp purchasing the home, Joe “Netherworld” Mendillo, a high-ranking member of the Church of Satan, owned it, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Mendillo had turned the building into a space for the community to gather for the spooky holiday.
The 36-year-old adult entertainer alleged on social media that it was a direct attack on his sexuality as well as his profession as a sex worker. Camp stressed that he wanted his story shared “because queer people are still under attack all over the world,” he said, adding: “Our voices will not be silenced.”
“Right now I’m just living day to day trying to piece together what’s left,” Camp noted. “Thank you for the love and support and continued fight to keep our queer families safe.” A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Camp recoup some of his losses and start anew.
