'Caring, Talented, Hilarious': Jonathan Scott Gushes Over GF Zooey Deschanel In Sweet Birthday Message — See Photo
Couple goals! Jonathan Scott posted the sweetest message for his girlfriend, Zooey Deschanel, in honor of her 41st birthday.
"Today is my favorite person’s birthday," Scott wrote on Sunday, January 17. "You are caring, talented, hilarious, sweet and just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. I know we can’t celebrate like we did last year, but I have a few surprises up my sleeve. You fill my life with so much joy."
"Marry her alreadyyyy!!" one fan told Scott. "Omg. propose already," a second user echoed.
"You two are seriously the cutest couple," another gushed.
After Deschanel previously branded Scott her "MVP" of 2020, how did Hollywood's sweetest couple come to be?
The pair met in September 2019 while filming Carpool Karaoke and instantly hit it off.
"I am seeing someone," Scott told Us Weekly before the duo went public. "I’m a very private person, so I don’t typically talk about that. It’s definitely special for me because I am the guy who raises the bar in what I’m looking for in a partner. I was caught a little off guard. It was definitely a pleasant surprise."
They went Instagram official in October 2019 after a Halloween-themed double date with Drew Scott and Linda Phan. Scott posted a picture of Deschanel in his arms after they survived Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Calif.

One month later, Deschanel was Scott’s date to his brother J.D’s wedding in Las Vegas. From there, they spent their first Thanksgiving together and made their red carpet debut at the Critic’s Choice Documentary Awards.
"I am beyond thankful to be surrounded by such incredibly fun loving people & puppies. You bring joy to my life. I love you," Scott tweeted at the time.
"Right now we’re just reveling in the fact that we love each other madly and we're still discovering each other," Scott told Entertainment Tonight last year. "It's the most incredible relationship ever, so we’re content in that. I've never experienced [this] before in my life."
Things started off normal for the pair, but the coronavirus pandemic no doubt had an impact on their relationship when they took a big step and decided to quarantine together.
While other couples didn’t survive quarantine, it only seemed to bring these two closer together when Scott said he "struck gold" with Deschanel. They spent it "playing games, making music, and of course doing puzzles," he shared on Instagram.
"This amazing person makes me truly happy every single day and fills my life with love and joy," Deschanel shared on her man's 42nd birthday in April 2020. "You are one of a kind wonderful. So happy I get to make your birthday cake."
"How time flies when you’re having the best time of your life. Who would’ve known that exactly one year ago my life would change forever. When I count my blessings, I count you twice," Scott gushed on their first anniversary in August 2020.
"One year ago today I met this kind, caring, hilarious, generous, creative, nerdy, handsome and all around incredible human," Deschanel said in her own post.
Despite the engagement rumors that circulated before Christmas, Scott confirmed at the time that he had not put a ring on it.
Deschanel was previously married to Jacob Pechenik from 2015 until 2019, and the former flames share two children together — Elsie Otter and Charlie Wolf.
