Jana Kramer Says It Was 'Hard' Bumping Into Ex Mike Caussin During Night Out With Jay Cutler
Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin may be coparents, but that doesn't mean things between the exes are fine and dandy. In fact, the One Tree Hill alum reflected on an awkward run-in the two had during a night out with Jay Cutler.
The 37-year-old explained on her "Whine Down" podcast on Monday, September 20, that she and Cutler attended The Twelve Thirty Club restaurant and bar on September 8, where they were photographed together. However, one thing that didn't get captured that night was her encounter with Caussin.
"You know what's really messed up? My ex was there the same night and the photographer tried to get a picture with all three of us, and I was like 'No, no, no, no, no nice try,'" she told listeners. "And everyone kind of started laughing, but I was like, 'Not happening.'"
She said that she didn't know the football player would be in the same place that night but said she "had a feeling" he would show up.
"I would say that was really hard to see him there... see him flirt with other girls," the country singer admitted. "I mean, granted, I was there as well doing my thang, but it was really hard. You know what was hard? It looked so easy for him."
"It looked like it didn't bother him one second, and that hurt, you know? He's just untamed and uncaged and he's happy," she said.
Kramer said that she and her ex-husband had a "strange" conversation that night.

"I was, like, 'This is awkward,' and he's, like, 'Not at all,'" she explained. "And I was, like, 'Ugh, OK.' I'm glad that he was fine but at the same time…I talked to my therapist about it and just a little piece of me was, like, it would've been nice [for him] to be, like, 'Yeah, this is hard, but I'm glad we can be cordial.' Just acknowledgment that it might hurt a little bit."
Kramer said that her ex "has a lot of resentment" towards her. "When things happened repeatedly at certain places, it’s very hard for me to trust when you go out and do those things, so I can totally see him being, like, 'finally I can go out and drink and be at a bar.' And just seeing him with other women. Is that going to be the future [wife], you know, one with my kids? That’s where I go," she said.
The retired NFL player was spotted with a mystery woman in Tulum last month. "Best of luck. Is all I have to say," Kramer reportedly wrote at the time, in what appears to be a since-deleted tweet.
The Christmas in Louisiana star announced their split in April and the divorce was finalized in July. The former flames share children Jolie, 5, and Jace, 2.
"I've given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. 'It's time,'" she said when she announced the split.
