Janelle Brown Praises Granddaughter Evie Brush On Taking Care Of Herself After Partial Leg Amputation

Janelle Brown is a proud grandmother.

The Sister Wives star couldn't help but gush over her granddaughter after watching a video of the 3-year-old taking care of her amputated leg.

Janelle's daughter Maddie Brown Brush welcomed her baby girl, Evie, on August 20, 2019, with husband Caleb Brush. Prior to her birth, the couple revealed they knew she had some sort of abnormalities, but her full condition wasn't confirmed until after she was born. (Maddie and Caleb also share son Axel, who was born May 20, 2017.)

Doctors diagnosed their bundle of joy with fibular aplasia, tibial campomelia, and oligosyndactyly syndrome, known as FATCO syndrome, after noticing she didn't have all ten fingers and toes during an ultrasound at 26 weeks.

"When Evie was born, Caleb and I found out our precious little girl was missing more than just one finger," Maddie shared in an Instagram post three days after giving birth. "She was missing three fingers, a toe and her fibula. She also had a bowed tibia, a shortened forearm and some fusing in her fingers."

One year later, Evie had to undergo a major procedure, where her leg was partially amputated, because of her diagnosis. At the time, Janelle's daughter shared a photo of her and Evie in the hospital via Instagram, while explaining, "Her surgeon laid the groundwork for her new foot and mobility it will bring, by way of a boyd amputation."

"Another [operation] gave her some extra mobility in her hand, by clipping her webbing she had in her right hand," she continued before happily sharing: "She is home and is recovering beautifully."

As Janelle has watched her granddaughter grow into her own, she made sure to praise the youngster on learning how to take care of herself.

Taking to her Instagram Story Tuesday, February 22, Kody Brown's estranged wife re-posted a video Maddie shared of Evie putting a bandage on her partially amputated leg. In the video, the little cutie smiled up at her mom as she proudly covered her leg.

"She insisted she do it herself," Maddie wrote alongside the video. "She's getting so big!"

The reality star also praised her daughter's little girl, adding: "This grandma's heart is full!" to her re-posted video.

Janelle isn't shy about showing her children and grandchildren love and support, as she even traveled to North Carolina for a few days around the time of Evie's amputation procedure, per The Hollywood Gossip, to help take care of the young family. Meanwhile, Kody was nowhere in sight.
