Jazz Jennings Considers Internship At A Doctor's Office Ahead Of Harvard In 'I Am Jazz' Sneak Peek: 'I Want To Make This Happen So Bad'
Jazz Jennings is on her way to Harvard — but not before possibly taking on an internship at a doctor's office.
In the sneak peak of Season 7's I Am Jazz premiere, obtained by People, the transgender activist talks to her parents about having an internship before her freshman year at the well-respected Ivy League school.
"So you know I visited with Dr. Gallagher and I called to follow up, somehow the conversation came up that for school I need to have 6 months of productivity — I need to get all these hours to show Harvard that I haven't been just laying on my a** doing nothing," she tells her parents in the clip, per the outlet.
According to the 21-year-old, Dr. Gallagher told her they're looking "for 'trans representation in the office,' because all the employees who work there currently aren't transgender, they're all cisgender."
Jazz tells her parents, per the outlet, that the doctor asked her to come into the office the following day to do a "trial run for an internship and if that goes well then [she'll] start working for her."
In a confessional, Jazz candidly notes: "Interning at Dr. Gallagher's office would be amazing," before reportedly admitting: "I want to make this happen so bad, because not only does it cover the hours I need for Harvard but I also get to help other people by sharing my story and making them feel comfortable as patients. It's a win-win."
Jazz's dad Greg then asks his daughter: "Do you know what you'd be doing?" to which she replies: "I feel like it's probably going to be mostly phone calls but maybe I could do other things."

Her mom Jeanette offers up that Jazz "could maybe even go in when [Dr. Gallagher is] doing surgery" — but the reality star doesn't seem thrilled by the potential opportunity, per the clip.
"That'd be weird," Jazz responds to her mom of watching the doctor during a procedure. "I don't know if I could."
In their own confessional, Greg and Jeanette reflect on their conversation with the trans superstar, with Greg reportedly saying: "I think Jazz working in a medical office is a nice opportunity." However, he couldn't help but question, "what happens when you see blood? Do you pass out? Do you fall over?" before concluding, "Jazz is not affected by the sight of blood."
Jeanette was quick to refute her husband's remark, pointing out: "What are you talking about? She fainted when I got Botox," which led Greg to joke: "Okay, so maybe she shouldn't be in a medical office."
The latest clip from Season 7 comes weeks after Jazz detailed her struggle with excessive eating and her family's response to her weight gain in the explosive trailer. Noting she "started binge eating, and I gained weight, and more weight, and more weight,” Jazz revealed: “I do experience fat shaming from my family. It makes me feel really humiliated.”
I Am Jazz season 7 premieres Tuesday, November 30, (9 p.m. ET) on TLC.
