Jenna Bush Hager recoiled at Sheinelle Jones' shocking confession.
On the Monday, September 3, episode of TODAY With Jenna and Sheinelle, Jones revealed her first job in Springfield, Ill., had a particularly stinky contest.
"We had this cow chip throwing contest and I didn't know what cow chips were," she revealed, with Bush Hager quickly noting that she, too, was unfamiliar with "cow chips."
'You Threw Poop?'
Jenna Bush Hager made Sheinelle Jones elaborate on her story.
"Oh, they're like dung patties," Jones casually revealed, prompting her co-host to recoil in horror.
Bush Hager stared at the anchor with her mouth agape as producers throughout the rest of the studio let out an amused cackle.
"You threw poop?" she exclaimed in horror to her unflappable counterpart. "This is the type of story you sometimes spit out and you think you don't need to explain."
Jenna Bush Hager was shocked when Sheinelle Jones couldn't remember the details.
Naturally, Bush Hager had a lot of questions about Jones' experiences with throwing old pieces of cow poop, including where she was doing this, what she was throwing them toward and why it was happening at all.
"I don't really remember," Jones confessed. "I think you just hurl them. It is a thing."
The reporter searched for support from those in the room who may have had a similar experience, but no one offered up poop-throwing stories of their own.

'Like a Dung Discus'
Sheinelle Jones told Jenna Bush Hager she didn't remember the chips having a smell.
According to the anchor, she had been roped into some kind of competition in a field at a fair or festival, completely unaware of what she had gotten herself into.
"You know when mud gets hard? I don't even remember it having a smell," she recalled.
She explained that the goal was to throw the dried-out "chips" as far as possible and whoever's patty went the furthest would win.
"Like a dung discus," Bush Hager joked.

With no one else in the room able to corroborate the odd tradition, Bush Hager was left unsatisfied and flabbergasted at the conclusion of her colleague's story.
Jones often speaks out on their morning talk show about her odd preferences and tendencies, including that she hates the smell of toothpaste and refuses to share straws for fear of germs.
"You won't eat spearmint, but you will throw cow poop?" Bush Hager asked, still baffled by the entire conversation.
The pair eventually managed to move on, though Bush Hager was hard-pressed to get over the dung-filled anecdote.
