Jessica Simpson's Secret Lover Revealed Amid Singer's Odd Dynamic Still Living With Estranged Husband Eric Johnson

Jessica Simpson is moving forward with a new man.

According to a Friday, April 3, report, the singer, 45, is dating musician Thomas Eisenhood over a year after separating from ex-husband Eric Johnson.

A source told People that Simpson is “happy,” “in a great place” and “excited for her future.” She has reportedly been seeing the Nashville resident for three months and spends time with him when staying at her second home in Tennessee. The duo met through mutual friends in the music industry, per insiders, and Eisenhood has not yet been introduced to Simpson’s kids.

The fashion designer shares daughters Maxwell Drew, 13, and Birdie Mae, 7, and son Ace Knute, 12, with Johnson.

Her latest relationship comes after she expressed interest in finding a lover during a July 2025 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends.

"I am single. I'm ready!" she emphasized at the time. "My type of person is one of a kind. I don't have a look. I just like for somebody to be individually who they are and exude confidence without the ego...it's hard to find, but I feel like it's out there. I don't need somebody to be supportive of me all the time...I feel like the independence that I have right now, if I can have that and give to someone else, that'd be cool."

Simpson and Johnson, 46, broke the news of their separation in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage.

A source confirmed to People, "She and Eric are committed to being the best possible parents they could be, having a harmonious relationship and supporting their kids.”

The exes still share their $17 million home in Hidden Hills, Calif., and have been trying to “figure out the best path forward.”

“He's been living there, but they're working on selling the house,” a source told the same outlet. “The goal has been to keep everything as stable and as friendly for the kids as possible.”

The former couple “still [has] a great relationship” and maintain a healthy co-parenting dynamic.

“The main goal is the kids, but they're moving toward next steps,” the insider said.

Although Simpson’s children are a priority, she’s also “focused on her music right now, her career, getting back to work, and that's it."

In January 2025, the actress revealed she had separated from the ex-NFL player while “navigating a painful situation in [their] marriage."

"Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them," she said at the time. "We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."
