Joe Rogan Says It's 'Crazy' Donald Trump Left Press Unaware They Were Decoys on Air Force One During Iran Threat

Joe Rogan expressed sheer disbelief and shock on his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," after learning that President Donald Trump secretly used White House journalists and staff as unwitting decoys to escape a credible Iranian threat.

The podcaster, speaking with guest Joe DeRosa, remarked that the reporters "were signing up for something they didn't know" and called the entire operation "f--- wild" and "crazy."

“Those press people were signing up for something they didn’t know,” Rogan said. “That’s crazy.”

Details from The Washington Post revealed that during a recent NATO trip to Turkey, intelligence officials identified a credible missile threat against Air Force One. Security teams executed a stealthy evasion plan.

Trump was smuggled off Air Force One into an airport catering truck and driven across the tarmac to a smaller military C-32 aircraft.

The White House press pool, along with senior administration officials — including Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Scott Bessent, and Steven Cheung — were kept on the original Air Force One, completely unaware that the president was gone.

Journalists were instructed to pull down all window shades for the duration of the flight to maintain the illusion. Both planes flew to an RAF base in the U.K., where Trump was smuggled back onto Air Force One to walk down the stairs in front of the press.

On his show, Rogan couldn't hold back his amazement at the logistical secrecy and the risk to which the press corps was exposed.

The 59-year-old podcaster quipped, “If the press dies, so sad. You just get more press.”

“That’s f--- wild,” DeRosa replied

Rogan noted, "When you want to know, like, who's more important, you or the president, that's when you find out."

He also joked that the reporters must be "a little perturbed," adding, "That would perturb me. Jesus Christ."

Rogan and DeRosa joked about how Trump would handle the situation if the decoy plane had actually been attacked, with Rogan mimicking Trump saying, "I should have been there, I wanted to be there with them when they died!" and DeRosa adding, "Maybe if they had written nicer things about me, I would have told them!"

When confronted by reporters regarding the operation, the elderly POTUS defended the security maneuver. He dismissed the idea that he left others in harm's way, claiming that his smaller secondary aircraft was actually the one in greater danger.

"I think actually the plane that I flew on was at greater risk," Trump asserted, arguing that adversaries would be more likely to target the actual vessel transport containing the commander-in-chief.
