'I Wanted To Turn Inside Out': How Kate Bosworth Incorporates Meditating And Self Expression Into Her Daily Routine
The pandemic has been stressful for everyone but Kate Bosworth has found a way to keep herself centered.
Last spring, a close friend of the actress issued her a month-long challenge: to meditate every single day.
“I wanted to turn inside out because traditionally my strength has not been a quiet mind!” Bosworth told Grazia.

With the help 10 Percent Happier — “an app for meditation skeptics” — the 38-year-old actually stuck with it.
“Sometimes I feel like I’m thinking of so many different things that I miss the moment,” she admitted. “I didn’t realize how much that was happening until I started to really dig into mindfulness.”
Nearly a year later after she first accepted the challenge, Bosworth said the practice is now an essential part of her daily routine.
“Like everyone, I feel the emotional rollercoaster from day to day,” she said, emphasizing the devastating impact of COVID-19. “We couldn’t sit around and watch a year pass by and press pause. I think that there was an incredible opportunity this year to move inward and a huge opportunity for growth.”

Another way the Blue Crush star has been keeping peace of mind during this time is blogging. In April 2020, she launched her website Kind.est, which she describes as a “handmade destination, born from my desire to connect deeper, to explore further, to smile more, to be curious — through honesty, and yes, kindness.”
“I never had the appropriate time set aside for it, but all the sudden I thought, ‘Well, if ever there’s a time, I should really do this now,’” recalled Bosworth.
The site covers tips from beauty to wellness to inspiring figure such as Amanda Gorman and grants Bosworth’s fans unprecedented and unfiltered access to her innermost thoughts, influences and inspirations.
“I think a lot of people see public figures and they think there must be a team of people behind the curtain, but every word is written by me, every photo is taken from me… It really is self-expression,” she reveals.
But don’t expect Bosworth’s sweet side hustle to turn into an all-out empire a la Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.
