Mark Consuelos suggested they 'should fly home separately.'

Ripa continued to elaborate, "It's just the insufferable nature of getting to the trip and coming home from the trip...that makes me not want to take the trip at all," she said with a chuckle.

"Well, we should fly home separately," Consuelos suggested.

The mother-of-three then alluded to past discussions on the talk show about an airport divorce, adding, "Oh, my gosh, I agree! We've threatened this before..."

During an October 2025, the couple first discussed the idea.

During the Wednesday, October 22, 2025 episode of Live, the couple, who has been together for over 30 years, got into quite the heated argument about their differing airport habits.

Consuelos jokingly grew more annoyed at Ripa as she aired out his pre-flight secrets on live television and suggested the pair get "an airport divorce" — a viral trend at the time where couples separate right after arriving and don't meet back up until they are about to board their flight.

"Couples are doing something unique and I want to run this by you," Ripa explained. "I think we could do well with this: an airport divorce. (Because) you and I have different traveling philosophies, different traveling styles."

'You Get Irritated With Me'

Kelly Ripa admitted that Mark Consuelos gets 'irritated' at the airport.

Consuelos became defensive, asking, "What do you mean? Like, I walk fast in the airport?"

Ripa then backed up her reasoning for an "airport divorce" by claiming Consuelos gets "irritated" when fans come up to him while they are waiting at the gate.

The Riverdale star was bothered by his wife's confession: "Don’t put that out there. I’m very nice to people. That’s not cool."

"You are very nice to people, but you get irritated with me," Ripa clarified.

Continuing the argument, Consuelos admitted: "No. I don’t get irritated with you. I’m irritated with you right now for trying to throw me under the bus."
