Kim Cattrall On Why She Refused 'Sex and the City' Reboot 'And Just Like That…': 'She Is Still Incredibly Bitter About The Way' Sarah Jessica Parker Treated Her

Is it still Sex and the City without Samantha Jones? That’s the question people are asking about the new SATC reboot, And Just Like That, in which the fan-favorite sexpot played by Kim Cattrall is conspicuously missing from the girl gang.
The reason, sources say, is her long-running rancor with ex-costar Sarah Jessica Parker, which has only festered over the years. Cattrall, 65, refused to reprise her role in the HBO miniseries "because she is still incredibly bitter about the way Sarah treated her," dishes a source. "She’s convinced it was all due to jealousy."
The actress felt ostracized from the start. "Sarah would ask Kristin [Davis] and Cynthia [Nixon] to lunch and they’d leave Kim behind, and when she hosted a big party at her home for the cast and crew at the end of the first season, she mysteriously forgot to invite Kim," the source spills. "Kim felt totally cast off and alone because none of the other women stuck up for her."

The worst part, adds the source, is that "Sarah always wanted to act like they were the best of friends when it came time to do publicity."
According to the source, Parker, 56, who served as executive producer on both the new and old shows, made "every effort" to convince Cattrall to join the revival. While the fashion icon acknowledges there’s been bad blood between them — Cattrall blasted SJP as “cruel” in 2018 — "she thinks it’s absurd that Kim has held a grudge for so long," the source says.
But Cattrall, who costars in the upcoming Hulu sitcom How I Met Your Father, has put Samantha behind her for good. "Kim says she’s got no regrets about not coming back," adds the source. "She wouldn’t wish all the mind games she endured on her worst enemy!"
