Family Lawyer Claims Brian Laundrie’s Sister Saw Her Brother Twice Before He Went Missing As The Manhunt Rages On
Lawyer Steve Bertolino has confirmed that Brian Laundrie's sister, Cassie, saw her brother twice before the wanted 23-year-old went missing in mid-September.
“Cassie saw her brother Brian on Sept. 1 when he stopped by her home and again on Sept. 6 at Fort De Soto Park,” Bertolino said in a statement. “Law enforcement agencies are well aware of these dates.”
The Laundrie family lawyer is eager to clear up any confusion since Cassie spoke out about the case in an interview with Good Morning, America on Friday, September 17 in which she claimed she hadn't seen her brother since he returned from his cross-country trip.
“I haven’t been able to talk to him. I wish I had information where I could give more,” she said in the interview, referring to making a statement to the police.
She later added, “Obviously me and my family want Gabby to be found safe. She’s like a sister and my children love her, and all I want is for her to come home safe and found and this to be just a big misunderstanding.”

Only a few days after the interview, Gabby Petito's body was discovered at the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. Teton County Coroner, Dr. Brent Blue, later determined her death to be a homicide.
As OK! previously reported, retired crime laboratory director Jennifer Shen spoke to the The Sun about what she believes was found by the medical examiners after the rising social media influencer's body was discovered.
“The death was referred to as a homicide very quickly after her body was found,” Shen said. “This generally indicates the cause of death was pretty apparent to those that found her.”
“I would assume there was visible trauma consistent with some kind of attack,” she mentioned, noting that the type of trauma might include gunshot or stab wounds.
“The official cause of death and the autopsy report will likely take weeks to release,” she added. “There are many in-depth toxicological tests that are completed to be thorough and to provide any and all information her body has to offer.”
