Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, was arrested in Garfield County, Colo., on five felony counts related to an explicit video involving a 17-year-old girl.
According to a 49-page law enforcement affidavit obtained by People, the case links to an illicit video filmed on February 1, 2024.
Tyler was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The video was filmed when Tyler was 18 and his former girlfriend was 17.
An explicit 43-second video filmed on February 1, 2024, when Tyler was 18 and his former girlfriend was 17 (weeks before turning 18).
The investigation began after a school tip-off and a report that the video was posted anonymously on Instagram. The affidavit states Tyler initially shared it with another person "to make her jealous.”
The affidavit reveals that the wider investigation uncovered other distinct individuals posting Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on social media, including an unrelated party who allegedly extorted an underage couple for more explicit material.
Inside Tyler's Past

Tyler was released on a $10,000 bond following his arrest on August 9.
“The affidavit also alleges that the reporting party failed to communicate to local police that she had sent the video to other individuals,” according to People. “She was also informed that if she did wish to file a formal report, Tyler ‘would also get in trouble,’ something she allegedly told police she did not want when she first arrived that day, per the affidavit.”
Tyler was released on a $10,000 bond following his arrest on August 9 and has yet to enter a plea. The names of the others involved have been redacted.
