Lionel Richie has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit at a St. Louis, Miss., medical center after performing in the city on Saturday, August 29.
Sources told TMZ the musician, 77, checked himself into a local hospital following his performance at The Muny in Forest Park to run a few tests.
Lionel Richie's Physicians Are Looking Into 'Possible Slight Dehydration'
Lionel Richie has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit at a St. Louis hospital.
The music producer's doctors are reportedly looking into "possible slight dehydration," with Richie hoping to be discharged on Tuesday, September 1.
Richie's hospital visit comes after eyewitnesses at his concert saw him "struggling" toward the end of his set. He also asked his team to bring him a chair on stage while singing his hit "All Night Long."
Lionel Richie Previously Fell Ill on Stage During His Show Back in June
Lionel Richie possibly suffered with dehydration.
Back in June, the "We Are the World" songwriter was rushed to a hospital after becoming ill during his concert in St. Paul, Minn. At the time, he noted he felt "dizzy" and "strange" before being brought to a hospital by ambulance.
"What I have learned about my years of being in the business. When you are feeling dizzy, sit your a-- down. And when you are feeling strange about yourself, sit your a-- down!" he said to the audience.
"Now, I want you to know, that's the first time in the history of 'Dancing on the Ceiling' I've done it sitting down. That's a bad sign, y'all," he joked before leaving the stage.

Lionel Richie Canceled 2 Tour Dates After Feeling Dizzy on Stage
Lionel Richie felt dizzy during one of his concerts in June.
He then moved to playing the piano, where he performed a seated version of The Commodores' 1978 tune "Three Times a Lady."
After announcing an intermission, the show was ultimately canceled as the Grammy winner was transported to a medical center for treatment.
Richie then canceled his Sing a Song All Night Long tour dates in Chicago and Ohio following his health scare. He later resumed his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in Pittsburgh, Penn., on June 30.
Doctors advised him to rest and focus on making a full recovery before continuing on with his tour.

Lionel Richie canceled two tour dates earlier this summer.
On July 5, Richie took to Instagram to thank his fans for their love and support while he was on the mend.
"Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you," he shared on social media alongside photos of his concert.
"Pittsburgh and Detroit were an absolute joy. The energy, the dancing, the faces in the crowd… we made real memories together. See you in Toronto... let’s party all night long!" he enthused.
