Drakeo the Ruler has died at 28-years-old.

The Los Angeles based rapper — real name Darrell Caldwell — was reportedly stabbed in the neck backstage while being attacked by a "group of people" at the Once Upon A Time In LA music festival in Exposition Park on Saturday, December 18.

The "Long Live The Greatest" artist was rushed to an nearby hospital by ambulance, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.

"There has been an incident at the Once Upon A Time in LA festival at the Banc of California," The Los Angeles police department tweeted around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. "LAPD will be in the area assisting CHP w/ the investigation."

The festival — which included headliners Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, and The Game — was immediately cancelled with staff informing attendees that for their safety they needed to leave the premises.

"There was an altercation in the roadway backstage." An event spokesperson later stated. "Out of respect for those involved and in coordination with local authorities, artists and organizers decided not to move forward with remaining sets so the festival was ended an hour early."

The event's official Instagram also alerted fans to the unexpected cancellation, saying: "The Once Upon A Time In LA Fest is ending early. All performances are now over. Please head to the closest exit and head eastbound on MLK".

Though the incident is still under investigation and little is known as to the events that led up to the brutal slaying, fellow rapper Joey Fatts blames the event for allowing a deadly weapon to slip past security.

"Drakeo was killed while working. Was there for a performance. All these get out the streets tweets/leave your city tweets. Shut the f—k up." The 30-year-old tweeted. "No reason why a knife should be able to be snuck into a music festival. Especially since the Travis Scott sh—t. Rip Drakeo hope his fam sue."

As of this time, no arrests have been made.
