Reports surfaced on August 21 that Meghan Markle was being considered for a role in season three of Netflix's 'The Gentlemen.'

Meghan Markle's possible return to acting has reportedly hit a slump as a proposal to appear in season three of the action comedy The Gentlemen has been rescinded.
A source recently told famed royal author Tina Brown, that the Duchess of Sussex's apparent casting is now off the table to due to heated controversy.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Earned Heat for Her Potential Acting Return

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are moving back to the U.K. later this month.
"I learned this morning the backlash against the casting of Meghan Markle in season three of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been withdrawn," Brown penned on her Substack page on Saturday, August 22.
"The backlash in the U.K. was so intense, it became untenable to go forward. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the U.K.," she continued.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Be Heading Back to the U.K. Later This Month

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's children are reportedly starting school in the U.K. this fall.
On the heels of Meghan, 45, and husband Prince Harry's bombshell news they will be relocating back to the U.K. in the forthcoming future, it was also reported the Suits star was being eyed for a role in the Netflix show.
While the Theo James-fronted series has not yet been renewed for season three just yet, its second series is set to debut on September 3.
People reported on August 19 the As Ever founder and the Duke of Sussex, 41, would be returning to England for an "extended amount of time" starting this month.

King Charles Was Informed of the Sussexes' Move Just Days Before Their Announcement

King Charles met with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last month.
According to the publication, the couple's two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will be coming with them and are set to start school in the country later this fall.
The pair is expected to establish a private, non-royal home there, and will also still maintain their Montecito, Calif., residence, as well as their abode in Portugal.
King Charles was reportedly "made aware" of Harry and Meghan's move on August 16, and "welcomes" the chance to spend more time with them in a "private and personal capacity."

The Sussexes left the royal family in 2020.
The pair allegedly have been contemplating their transatlantic move for quite some time, according to The Sun. They also will not resume being working royals again, but they will continue on with their business endeavors.
Last month, Meghan and the Spare author visited the monarch, 77, alongside their children at Highgrove House. It was the first time Charles saw his grandkids in four years.
The last time Meghan, Lilibet and Archie came in contact with the sovereign was in June 2022 to celebrate the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.
The Sussexes announced in January 2020 they would taking a step back as senior members of The Firm and were making moves to become "financially independent." They moved to the West Coast later that same year.
