Meghan Markle and Prince Harry delivered their bombshell, two-hour CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday, March 7, to 60 million viewers worldwide

During the buzzed-about television event, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex dove deep into their time with the royal family, touching on topics surrounding mental health, racism and family feuds. And like their jaw-dropping revelations, their fashion choices spoke volumes.

For her big sit down moment, Meghan, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, donned a dark $4,700 silk Giorgio Armani dress featuring an empire silhouette, white lotus print and an embroidered adornment that spanned from her right shoulder down to the mid-bodice.

As Town & Country reported, the former Suits star chose this ensemble because the lotus flower signifies enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth.

Many keen observers noted striking similarities between the 39-year-old’s interview look and a famous portrait of Wallis Simpson, a figure whom Meghan has drawn great comparisons to.

Simpson was an American socialite and the wife of the Duke of Windsor, the former British King Edward VIII (Prince Harry’s great uncle). Their intention to marry and her status as a divorcée caused a constitutional crisis that led to Edward's abdication in 1936. The couple married on June 3, 1937, at the Château de Candé in France. No member of Edward's family attended.

(Before tying the knot with Harry in 2018, Meghan was married to film producer Trevor Engelson from 2011-2013.)

Meghan’s accessories were just as thoughtful. Her diamond Cartier Love bracelet once belonged to the late Princess Diana. She also wore blue topaz earrings by Canadian brand Bijoux Birks, a necklace by British designer Pippa Small and $626 black Aquazzura “Purist Pumps.”

Harry, for his part, sported a casual, modest American look, which included a $650 light grey J. Crew Ludlow Suit styled with a pressed white shirt, sans tie.

HOW MUCH MONEY DID PRINCESS DIANA LEAVE PRINCE HARRY AFTER HER TRAGIC DEATH?

Later in the interview, Meghan swaps her elegant ensemble for a dressed-down outfit, as she and her 36-year-old husband showed Oprah around their chicken coop, aka “Archie's Chick Inn.”

Meghan wore a $89.50 J.Crew rain jacket, a classic white button-down, jeans and $150 Hunter wellie boots. She finished off the look with a touch of Hollywood glamor by way of $4,100 diamond earrings by Jessica McCormack and a delicate gold "A" pendant necklace ("A," of course, for her 22-month-old son Archie).
