Megyn Kelly slammed Lindsay Clancy's legal team after her attorney publicly appealed to President Donald Trump for a pardon following a mistrial in the case involving the deaths of her three children.
"Why would you be asking for a pardon when your client is charged with a state crime, something for which the president cannot pardon her?" Kelly, 55, asked during the Tuesday, September 8, broadcast of "The Megyn Kelly Show."

Lindsay Clancy's lawyer asked President Donald Trump to 'consider' what Lindsay Clancy has been through.
Kelly's harsh criticism came hours after Clancy's lawyer Kevin Reddington made the pardon request in his first sit-down interview with Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos since the case was ruled a mistrial on Friday, September 4.
"Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady and the person she is, what she's been through, and consider a pardon," Reddington said as he addressed Trump, 80, during the appearance.
Megyn Kelly Called the Request 'Bizarre'
Megyn Kelly questioned why George Stephanopoulos didn't ask follow-up questions about a potential presidential pardon.
Kelly called Reddington's request for a presidential pardon "bizarre," and also shaded the GMA anchor, 64, for not asking follow-up questions.
"God forbid, you blow a break or you actually just take the time that's necessary to clarify what in God's name your guest is talking about," Kelly continued. "Instead, you just leave everyone confused. Well, we have sent an email to Reddington's office asking what the h--- he's talking about. What do you mean you want President Trump to pardon her? We are waiting to hear back."

Lindsay Clancy Confessed to Strangling Her 3 Young Children
Lindsay Clancy confessed to fatally strangling her three children with exercise equipment.
As OK! previously reported, Clancy faced first-degree murder charges after confessing to fatally strangling her three children with exercise equipment in January 2023. After the murders, she tried to commit suicide by slitting her throat and wrists and jumping from a second-floor window, which left her wheelchair bound.
The Massachusetts mother pleaded not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility, essentially an insanity defense, claiming she was experiencing a severe postpartum psychiatric episode at the time of the violent acts.
Lindsay Clancy's Case Ended in Mistrial
One juror reportedly refused to join the others in acquitting in Lindsay Clancy.
After a six-week trial and days of deliberation, the jury was unable to determine if she was struggling with postpartum psychosis at the time of the January 2023 murders.
One juror reportedly refused to join the others in voting to acquit Clancy. Though Reddington petitioned Judge William F. Sullivan to remove the juror, he denied his request.
A hearing on the next steps in the case is scheduled for September 29.
