Melanie Martin Files For Restraining Order Against Ex Aaron Carter, Claims He 'Punched' Her Amid Heated Argument
Melanie Martin is afraid for her wellbeing following an allegedly violent altercation with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter.
The mother-of-one filed a petition to obtain a domestic violence restraining order against the "I'm All About You" singer with the city of L.A.'s Superior Court on Monday, February 28, according to court documents obtained by Radar.
In the petition, she alleged that an argument with Carter got physical on Monday, February 21, when they were fighting about her talking to another man during a time when the couple was broken up.
"He punched me in the left rib and pushed me," she wrote in the document, noting that she "didn’t feel the pain till a few days later."
According to the petition, she then left the home because Carter "threatened to give me a restraining order." Following the incident, Martin claimed she "went to Kaiser" at one point to see a doctor, and after receiving x-rays, it was confirmed she was suffering from three broken ribs.
She checked a box on the form to allege that this is the first time the pop star has physically abused her. She also mentioned their son Prince — who was born on November 22, 2021 — was in the other room at the time of the altercation.

"He is upset that I talked to another man so he got violent because he is upset," Martin informed the court in the document. "He tried to threaten me with a fake allegation if I didn’t leave after and all my things were still at the house and my baby as well."
"We were thrown out on the streets," her explanation of the event continued, adding she "had to stay at friends" that night.
The petition requested that the order of protection cover both Martin and her son. It also noted she will be the one "with the child, not the father" as the Department of Child and Family Services threatened to remove the baby from Carter's care.
"I think he needs to go to anger management asap," she penned of her need for protection from the "Fool's Gold" artist, before also informing the court that he keeps a pistol and three other firearms in his home.
As OK! previously reported, Carter took to Instagram on Monday, February 28, to declare he misses Prince since the shocking February 21 incident. "I miss you son." He captioned the post. "Daddy loves you always."
