Meri Brown Addresses Her 'Estranged' Relationship With Kody, Claps Back At 'Sister Wives' Viewers Calling Her 'Desperate, Pathetic, Embarrassing'
Meri Brown is speaking her truth.
As Sister Wives viewers have been watching her estranged relationship with Kody Brown seemingly go from bad to worse throughout Season 15 and 16, the reality star took to Instagram to directly address her thoughts on her companionship with the family patriarch.
Alongside a selfie posted Friday, February 4, Meri wrote: "A few months ago, I used the word 'estranged' regarding my relationship, in a conversation with a friend."
"It was the first time I had vocalized it, and it felt.... Honest," she confessed, adding that while it was "hard" to use the word, it felt "somewhat freeing."
"I know where my relationship is, I'm not oblivious to that. I will always look for the best in people and situations, and hope they see it too," Meri maintained. "I want to protect people, their emotions, the tough situations."
While declaring she has "never been" and never will be the "person who will sit and publicly trash someone or something," Meri wrote: "So if you start reading this and think that's what your going to get here, you'll be disappointed."

Ever since Season 16 began airing, Meri shared that she's been judged for the way she and her relationship is perceived on "that 'certain TV show,''' explaining: "I've been labeled. I've been called by viewers, desperate, pathetic, embarrassing, told I have no worth and no value, and a plethora of other things that I won't even mention here."
"In actuality, what you've seen is me no longer being silent," the mother-of-one declared. "What you've seen is me using my voice to have fun and bring humor to a not so perfect situation."
Meri insisted she knows her "value" and "worth," but most of all, she knows: "Who I AM, what I want in life, what I aspire to be, and what I feel like I'm doing a pretty dang good job at, is being happy."
Noting that she surrounds herself with people that bring her peace and joy, she declared: "I have friends, co-workers, colleagues, mentors, who fill my cup, and I hope in some way I'm filling theirs."
"I have plans and goals and aspirations that make me happy and fulfilled. I work toward those dreams daily. I overcome, I succeed, I win," she concluded. "And, I'm happy with myself."
Meri and Kody's marriage has been strained even before her catfishing scandal in 2015. Despite Meri's best efforts to make their relationship work, Kody revealed on the most recent episode of the hit reality show that he would never get back with Meri romantically.
The estranged couple wed in 1990 and legally divorced in 2014 so the father-of-many could legally marry fourth wife Robyn and adopt her kids.
