Miley Cyrus introduced 'Bass Persuades' album as she stepped into a new chapter of her music career.

Miley Cyrus announced her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, will arrive on September 18.

Ahead of the release, the singer also appeared to drop “Cyrus” from her social media accounts and go by “Miley.”

Per the Los Angeles Times, the change came with a new Instagram profile photo showing her in red lighting and a Saint Laurent faux fur coat.

She also shared the album cover, which featured her in dark makeup with a white rose covering her mouth.

The rollout continued with a red poster featuring Cyrus’ face, her official website address and “MILEY” in all caps.

Miley Cyrus shared her thoughts on music while introducing her new album 'Bass Persuades.'

Cyrus reflected on what music represents to her when she introduced the album's title.

"Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on," she wrote in her Instagram post caption.

She added, "It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me."

"Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. Miley," Cyrus concluded.

Miley Cyrus described the deeper meaning behind her latest record.

The singer also described the record as a "love story" during an interview with Wonderland Magazine on July 27.

"There is definitely a romantic thread weaving through it because, like all my records, it’s a reflection of where I am in my life. But this one feels especially meaningful because this feeling has stayed with me through multiple eras," she said.

Cyrus opened up about how her view of love evolved over her recent albums.

"Not just the love I share with someone else," she said while discussing the different forms of love reflected in her music.

"That’s probably been the biggest evolution. Once your relationship with yourself changes, every relationship around you changes too. I think this record celebrates both of those equally," Cyrus added.

Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, announced their engagement in December 2025 after more than four years together.

The singer recently reflected on change while remembering her godmother, Dolly Parton, following the music icon’s death at 80.

"What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis," she wrote via her Instagram post.
