Rumer Willis has filed an emergency request asking a judge to keep her ex Derek Richard Thomas' visits with their daughter Louetta supervised, and to block overnight visitation until a hearing is held, according to court documents.

The filing marks the latest turn in a custody battle that has grown increasingly contentious since Thomas first filed for custody and visitation in July 2025. A June 9 order granted Willis primary physical custody of the couple's 3-year-old daughter, with Thomas receiving supervised visitation every other weekend, set to transition into unmonitored overnight visits after six weeks.
That transition is now the flashpoint at the center of Willis' new request.
Rumer Willis' Allegations
Rumer Willis alleged that Derek Richard Thomas repeatedly violated custody orders and endangered their child.
Willis, 38, alleges Thomas has repeatedly violated custody orders and shown a "lack of judgment that endangers" their 3-year-old daughter, per the filing.
She claims he completed only five and a half of his court-ordered supervised visits since June 20, citing recurring disputes over the assigned supervising nannies, including one instance where Willis says he refused to let a court-ordered monitor into his home.
Among other incidents, Willis alleges Thomas left Louetta with a nanny at a July Fourth parade and later refused to let the nanny into an Airbnb where he was staying, then declined a visit the next day over the nanny's identity.
She also alleges he chose to walk two and a half miles with Louetta in extreme heat rather than drive, including attempting to cross a five-lane highway with a 55-mph speed limit.

Derek Richard Thomas' Attorney Fires Back
Derek Richard Thomas’ attorney strongly denied the allegations and accused Rumer Willis of making false claims.
Thomas' attorney, Mike Kretzmer, disputed the allegations in a statement to People, accusing Willis of continuing "to perpetuate lie upon lie upon lie concerning Mr. Thomas."
He said the emergency filing was a "reckless and demonstrably false pleading" timed to avoid Thomas' unmonitored overnight visits, which were set to begin the last weekend of August, and noted the matter will be heard in court on September 10.
Kretzmer also claimed Willis relocated to Nashville with Louetta without a valid court order. Willis disputes the allegation, saying the move was made with Thomas' permission.
The former couple prepared for another court hearing.
"Mr. Thomas is a very capable, loving and devoted father," Kretzmer said, denying any drug use or endangerment on Thomas' part.
Willis had previously alleged in a separate filing that Thomas used marijuana around Louetta; Thomas has denied any drug use.
In his own declaration filed August 27, Thomas alleged Willis has "done everything in her power to interfere, block and frustrate" his relationship with Louetta, and described a July incident in which Willis allegedly arrived at his home with police roughly 40 minutes into a supervised visit and took Louetta.
