Tensions Rising On Set Of 'And Just Like That...': 'Everyone Wants To Make Sure' Highly Anticipated 'Sex And The City' Revival 'Isn't A Flop'
Could the much-hyped Sex and the City revival turn out to be as messy as Carrie Bradshaw’s love life?
The HBO Max limited series, And Just Like That... — which reunites Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis — started shooting last month in New York City, “and it’s been a pretty intense experience, to say the least,” says an insider. “They’ve waited so long to do this, and nerves are at an all-time high. Everyone wants to make sure this isn’t a flop.”
According to the insider, the absence of sexpot Kim Cattrall, 64, fueled tensions from the start. The actress has been vocal about ditching the franchise due to her longstanding and highly public feud with Parker, 56, whom she called out as being “cruel” in 2018.
“It’s the elephant in the room,” the source says. “Privately, everyone’s talking about how insane it is to do a reboot without her.”
Making matters worse, it seems to have taken Davis, 56, and Nixon, 55, “a while to warm up to each other,” the insider dishes.

“They’re putting up a friendly front, but they both bolt for their trailers as soon as the cameras stop rolling,” continues the insider. “The truth is, they haven’t hung out in a while and occasionally clashed while filming the original. No one wants a repeat of one of their fights.”
There is one bright spot: Parker's chemistry with Chris Noth (a.k.a. Mr. Big), 66, still sizzles, onscreen and off.
Noth and Parker were “thrilled” to film together again, says the source: “When they first saw each other in character, she couldn’t help but shed a few tears of joy!”
“He loves flirting with her, and they still have a real connection,” dishes the source. “With them at least, it’s just like the good old days.”
But with so much at stake, the cast and crew are feeling the heat. “The last thing anyone wants is to come back after 17 years and disappoint all of the show’s fans,” the insider adds. “The pressure is on!”
