As the fashionable ladies of Sex and the City continue to be spotted strutting down the streets of Manhattan as they film the highly anticipated revival And Just Like That…, a source is squealing that the premiere episode will shock fans with an explosive gamechanger.
An insider close to production spilled that a major character is going to be killed off in the first episode. “It is going to be a big death,” the insider continued, prompting many to speculate that Mr. Big, played by actor Chris Noth, will meet his demise.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who stars in and executive produces the upcoming series wanted to “shake up audiences from the get go to make them realize this is a different paced show from the previous one, where anything can happen and anyone can go… just like life,” the source dished to Daily Mail.
Others believe the death could be that of Samantha Jones, played by legendary actress Kim Cattrall, who previously announced she would not be returning.
The spy noted the first episode bombshell will “excite fans more about what drama is in store for them next year,” adding: “from what we have read so far there are plenty of twists and turns ahead.'
OK! recently posted exclusive photos of Noth suited up as Mr. Big on set with his former flame Carrie Bradshaw (Parker). Rumors have been swirling that the duo, who tied the knot in the first SATC film after he left her at the altar, will be going through a bitter divorce in the upcoming HBO Max series. Adding fuel to the separation fire, Noth was snapped on set sans wedding ring!
Noth reunites with his old costars Parker, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte) for a 10 episode, half-hour show following the ladies as they navigate love, sex and friendship in their 50s.
While Cattrall is not returning, some OG favs are set to make a comeback, including Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino and Willie Garson as Stanford Blatch. And Just Like That… began filming in late spring and will premiere on HBO Max, although no release date has been announced.
