Single Tom Brady Spotted Hugging Women's College Volleyball Star in Viral Video: Watch

Tom Brady's prolonged embrace with a college volleyball star has gone viral, with fans speculating about what the gesture might mean.

The hug happened before a match between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Texas Longhorns this past weekend, which the NFL alum attended with his daughter, Vivian, 13.

In footage shared by @usanewshq on X, Nebraska player Harper Murray can be seen walking up to Brady courtside before the game and hugging him.

The part that made fans do a double take, though, was that the former football player's hand remained in the small of Murray's back for a couple of seconds longer than you might expect from a friendly "hello" embrace.

The lingering gesture quickly had social media users speculating about whether there was more to the interaction than friendship. However, there’s nothing to suggest it was anything more than a friendly exchange between two accomplished athletes.

After the fact, Nebraska Volleyball posted a series of photos of Brady and Vivian meeting Murray on Instagram. The photos showed the college athlete embracing the dad-of-three, as well as his daughter.

In the comments section, Brady wrote, "Thank you 🙏🏻and good luck this season LFG."

However, other commenters took issue with the fact that Murray could pretty much only be seen from behind.

"Not a single photo of her face😭," one person said.

"Insane first image," said someone else.

"4 pics and we ain’t even see her face 😂," added another.

It's no secret that Vivian is a huge volleyball fan — both as a viewer and as a player.

Back in April, her famous dad posted a video of himself playing volleyball with his daughter, writing, "Saturday nights with my future Olympian.. I think I finally found someone who likes practice more than I did 😂."

At the time, David Beckham commented, "You met your match and some ❤️ @tombrady ❤️."

USA Volleyball wrote, "Putting in the work! Swing by the National Team gym anytime! 🇺🇸."

Interestingly, Murray also commented, indicating that perhaps she and Brady knew each other before Sunday's match.

Brady has made many headlines in recent years following his shock split from Gisele Bündchen after 13 years of marriage.

In an Instagram Story in October 2022, Brady wrote, "In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together."

He called the process "painful and difficult."

Bündchen and Brady share two children: Benjamin, 16, and Vivian. The retired athlete also shares son Jack, 19, with ex Bridget Moynahan.

Bündchen has since moved on with her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, with whom she has a baby boy.
