Tori Spelling Addresses Dean McDermott's Absence From Family Christmas Card As Divorce Speculation Mounts
Tori Spelling is addressing the elephant in the room.
The 48-year-old gave an explanation as to why her husband Dean McDermott was left out of their family holiday card following speculation that the end of their marriage is near.
On Monday, November 22, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum posted a wholesome photo of her family’s upcoming Christmas card to her Instagram account — but McDermott, 55, was clearly missing.
Instead, Spelling posed with the estranged couple’s five children: Liam, 14, Stella, 13, Hattie, 10, Finn, 9 and Beau, 4, along with a handful of farm animals — including a pig, a chicken and two goats.
The card was signed, “With Love, from our farm to your home! XOXO, Tori & Family.”
While her followers couldn’t help but notice McDermott’s absence from the family photo — given their rumored marital woes — the Mommywood author insisted her estranged hubby was out of town for the shoot.
One user sarcastically commented: “Dean must be ‘working out of town and couldn’t get home in time for the annual Christmas picture 😉,” to which Spelling responded, “Fact: @iamdeanmdermott was filming his new feature film in Canada.”
The podcast host tried to brush off speculation surrounding McDermott’s absence, but she seemed to throw shade at the father of her children in the caption of the post, as she called this year's photo her “favorite holiday card yet.”
“This is a card our friends and family will love opening and putting on display!” she cryptically wrote in the caption.
Spelling and McDermott have been making headlines for months after sparking divorce rumors earlier this year — especially after the California native admitted they sleep in separate beds.
While neither coparent has yet to directly address the split speculation, both Spelling and McDermott have been spotted without their wedding bands in recent months, leaving their fans to believe it's officially over between the two.
An insider previously dished to OK! that the estranged pair has only “lasted this long” for the sake of their children, explaining that Spelling “has been miserable for ages, but didn’t have the fortitude to leave.”
However, it seems the blonde babe may have hit her breaking point, as another source recently revealed “friends are saying Tori finally found the courage to leave Dean,” and that she is ready to start a “new chapter.”
“She’s saying she’s had enough and that it’s for real this time,” the insider added.
