'RHOC' Star Vicki Gunvalson Was 'Traumatized' After Steve Lodge Called Off Their Engagement: 'It Ruined Her'
Vicki Gunvalson and Steve Lodge have called it quits — and the RHOC star is reportedly not taking it well.
“Steve broke up with Vicki while she was filming the [Real Housewives] spinoff show in the Berkshires,” a source told Us Weekly. “After he told her this, she was traumatized. It ruined her. She didn’t want to be at the [Dorinda Medley’s] house anymore.”
The 59-year-old reality star is apparently “still a mess” and is “not OK,” the source added.
“She’s in terrible shape. She still loves him. They had not been getting along for a long time. He seemed disinterested in her for a very long time,” the source told the outlet.
It appears that things had been rocky between the couple in recent months, after the Real Housewives of Orange County alum reportedly broke up with Lodge temporarily back in June.
“Steve and Vicki had been living separately for much of the pandemic,” a source told Page Six. “Steve had been living like he was a single man in Puerto Vallarta, while Vicki was in the US.”
The pair decided to reconcile after the alleged breakup stint in June, but ultimately weren’t able to salvage the relationship.
Gunvalson began dating Lodge back in 2016, before he popped the question three years later.
“He cried and I cried,” Gunvalson said of the “intimate” proposal back in April 2019. “I was like, ‘Steve this is just perfect. Let me see the ring!’ He showed it to me and it’s incredible. It’s almost flawless. 5.5 carats. It’s literally perfect. It’s gorgeous. He did it right.”
However, things have certainly changed between the former couple, as Gunvalson has allegedly unfollowed Lodge on Instagram.
News of the split comes just as the “Reality With Vicki” podcast host recently made headlines over her controversial statements regarding the COVID-19 vaccine.
As OK! previously reported, Gunvalson came under fire for allegedly telling her costars on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip that “everyone who got the vaccine is going to die.”
The Bravo star also recently tested positive for COVID-19, although she wrote off the diagnosis as “an unknown cold.”
