Visitors Sign Special Book of Condolence at Dolly Parton's Resting Place After Funeral

Visitors will be able to sign a special book of condolence when they visit Dolly Parton’s final resting place.

The country legend was laid to rest on August 28, following a private funeral held by her family at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, Tennessee.

Photos began circulating online shortly afterward, showing that the authorities had placed a book on a table below a picture of the music icon performing on a wall near her resting place, where visitors could leave messages for the late icon.

In photos available online, an intricate design surrounding the surname Dean could be seen adorning pictures of two vast properties across a rolling land and underneath a cloudy sky.

On one side of the scene is Parton's name with her date of birth. On the other side is her late husband Carl Dean’s name with his date of birth and death. In the middle, the words read, “married May 30, 1966.”

Another image shows the table mentioned above with the special book placed on top of it for grieving family, friends and fans of the late star to share their thoughts and memories of her.

A social media user posted pictures of the same on X, with the caption, “If you go to visit Dolly Parton’s final resting place, Woodlawn has done a great job setting up, knowing many will be stopping by to pay their respects.”

“She is inside the mausoleum to the right. They’ve got ropes up should a line form and a special book to leave your name, city and small message. A very sweet gesture they did not have to do at all, but know so many people will appreciate it,” they added.

Lainey Mae Parton, the singer's niece, was the first to confirm the news of a private funeral being held by their family and her being laid to rest.

She also shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on Sunday, August 30, alongside pictures of their family.

“This is a really hard post for me to make,” she wrote.

“I wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words,” she continued.

“She always had a way of making me feel like I was enough. She never made my dreams feel too big or made me feel like I couldn’t do something,” she added.

“She believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself,” she went on.

“Most people can think of at least one bad memory with everyone in their family. I honestly can’t think of one with her,” she stated.

Lainey also added that since the late legend didn't have children of her own, she used to treat the youngsters in the family like her own children.
