Dragomir gave a heads up to fans before the operation in June. "Going in for a life saving procedure if it don’t work then it’s been a great time people thank you for all you’ve done for me but we pray we see it through and we pray we get fatter and fitter after it for them to see progress and not say they can’t do anything after surgery," he wrote on Twitter.
A month before the vlogger's passing, Dragomir shared that he would be moving into the hospital full-time while waiting for a heart transplant. "After what I thought was a week of progression in hospital ,I’ve been hit with very very hard news for a 17 year old to take," he admitted at the time.
After Dragomir's mother quit her job to support her son, his followers raised almost $20,500 (£14,549) on GoFundMe to help fund the transplant.
"As most of you would know, Kipsta has unfortunately passed away following an unsuccessful surgery. Kip was one of the most selfless and strongest kids who lost his life way too young. His journey will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in peace ❤️," an update read.
YouTube said it was "saddened" by the news. "Even in the hardest of times, he has been an inspiration to so many."
