13 Can’t-Miss TV and Movie Moments at Comic-Con 2014

Happy Comic-Con! It’s that nerdtastic week where pop culture enthusiasts flock to San Diego to celebrate their favorite upcoming films, TV shows, comic books, videos games and more.

While the convention holds tons and tons of panels featuring the stars and creators of our favorite forms of entertainment, it would be impossible to see it all. But here are the 13 events that you definitely will be hearing about this week.

Thursday, July 24, 2014 – DreamWorks Animation panel

It’s true. He will be there in the flesh. Benedict Cumberbatch will grace San Diego Comic-Con with his presence for the Penguins of Madagascar panel. He is a voice in the film, although we’re guessing a lot of ladies will be losing their voices due to many high-pitched screams once he steps on stage. 

Thursday, July 24, 2014 – Community panel 

The cast and creator of Yahoo’s newest TV show will be on hand to…explain what that means exactly? We need the deets! 

Thursday, July 24, 2014 – The Witches of East End 

One of the buzziest new shows will be at SDCC to talk about the livetweet-worthy second season going on now, including star Jenna Dewan Tatum who won’t have to travel down to San Diego alone…

Friday, July 25, 2014 – FOX Film panel

…As her husband Channing Tatum will also be on hand for the pop culture festivities! He’ll be part of the Fox panel on Friday afternoon to present his upcoming film Book of Life. 

Friday, July 25, 2014 – The Hunger Games cast

Stars of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will be in the house to present the first full-length trailer for the film, and we plan to watch it on repeat all weekend long. 

Friday, July 25, 2014 – The Walking Dead panel 

Not that we want to wish the summer away, but is it October yet?!? We need to know what happens to our stranded zombie-fighting friends! The cast will be there to drop some juicy details on what to expect from the new season. 

Friday, July 25, 2014 – The Big Bang Theory panel

Well, this is going to be fun. Craig Ferguson wll serve as moderator of the BBT panel which will surely include questions about Wolowitz’s mom, Leonard and Penny’s relationship and many, many Bazingas. Let’s just hope the cast has signed on the dotted line by then… 

Saturday, July 26, 2014 – Marvel panel

This one’s giving us chills already. While some Avengers: Age of Ultron footage was shown recently in London, the buzz around the Con is that at least some of the cast will be in attendance and ready to show the Marvel fans what they want: superheroes on the screen. 

Saturday, July 26, 2014 – Warner Bros. panel

Will they show us some Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage or what? While they haven’t confirmed that, it might make some heads explode. Peter Jackson will also be on hand to talk about the last Hobbit film, and at the very least there could be a Tom Hardy sighting when the first footage from Mad Max is screened. 

Saturday, July 26, 2014 – Once Upon a Time panel

Frozen is coming to OUAT and the fans undoubtedly have some questions! Those will get answered by the cast and executive producers on the panel moderated by Community‘s Yvette Nicole Brown.
