The first Dancing With the Stars competitor is from down under! Bindi Irwin is set to compete one season 21 of the ABC competition.
The 17-year-old daughter of Steve Irwin was announced as the first contestant on August 24 on Good Morning America’s Twitter.
“And the first celebrity on the new season of @DancingABC... Bindi Irwin! #GMADancing,” GMA tweeted.
Bindi’s partner has yet to be announced, but the season 21 professionals were announced last week.
Irwin has taken an active role in her Crocodile Hunter father’s zoo, Australia Zoo, and remains an activist for animals and wildlife conservancy.
Bindi’s dad was killed in September 2006 by a stingray barb while filming in Australia.
Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
