Duane "Dog" Chapman admitted that he's ready to start dating again following the death of wife Beth Chapman in June 2019. The reality star confessed that he's "lonely" after losing his longtime spouse to throat cancer, so he's open to finding a new relationship. Rumors recently romantically linked Duane to Beth's former assistant Moon Angell, but he insists they are just close friends.
Duane, 66, was linked to Moon after his daughter Lyssa Chapman went on Twitter and shared a cryptic message about someone trying to get close to her male family members. "If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your stepmom died what would you do? If you went to your mother's closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do ? #ItsNotWhenOrWhyItsWho," Lyssa tweeted on January 6.
The Dog The Bounty Hunter star divulged that he and Moon are close, but only in the sense that she was helping him to manage his grief over Beth's death. "She has just been so good to me. I’ll get really emotional and find myself getting into a dark hole and she will tell me to suck it up. So it’s been good having her by my side," he told RadarOnline.com.
Duane went on to reveal that he'd like to find a significant other to keep him company. "I’m very lonely. Beth and I talked about death and I’d say, ‘You know Beth, I’ll never get married and I’ll never have a girlfriend again.’ She’s like, 'Shut up. You will too. You need a woman beside you.' I’m the kind of guy that has to have a woman around me. There will never another Mrs. Dog. But I have to find a way to move on. I’m so lonely right now. I’m just really lonely," he tearfully said.

He continued, "I see myself dating again. I am a human being. I don’t ever remember being single. And of course what do you do now, you go to the bars. I can’t drink. I’ll be in jail. I really can’t drink without Beth being around, because I’ll get in trouble. But I’ll probably end up dating soon. I’m Dog The Bounty Hunter. I think I will not get married, but I think I will have a girlfriend who will sleep next to me. But they got to know the whole story. They got to know about Beth. It has to be a certain person.”
Things have been rough for Duane since Beth passed away. He was hospitalized in September 2019 following a heart attack scare. He later learned that he had a pulmonary embolism.
He expressed his heartache over celebrating his first holiday season without Beth in December 2019. That same month, Duane told his Instagram followers that he had been getting therapy. "Going to my shrink for 6 months now ever since Beth left me I am not sure if it works let you know in another 6," he captioned one of his posts.
