Ellen Page marked the beginning of LGBTQ Pride month by posting a topless kissing photo with wife Emma Portner to Instagram on Sunday, June 2. Scroll through for details!
Ellen, 32, and Emma, 24, lovingly embraced while naked in the black and white snapshot. "HAPPY PRIDE!!! Sending love," the Juno star captioned the image.
The actress and the professional dancer began dating in the summer of 2017 and confirmed they had wed in January 2018.
The Umbrella Academy star publicly came out as gay during a speech at Time to THRIVE, a conference to promote the welfare of LGBT young people, in February 2014.
The Flatliners star wasn't always so comfortable with the idea of exposing her sexuality to the public.
"I remember being in my early 20s and really believing it was impossible for me to come out. But, over time, with more representation, hearts and minds have changed. It doesn’t happen quickly enough and it hasn’t happened enough, particularly for the most marginalized in the community. But things have got better," she told PorterEdit in February 2019.
She continued, "I was distinctly told, by people in the industry, when I started to become known: ‘People cannot know you’re gay.’ And I was pressured – forced, in many cases – to always wear dresses and heels for events and photo shoots."
