Giuliana Rancic has been doing red carpet interviews at award shows for E! for decades, but even she messes up now and again. At the 2019 Golden Globes, her interview with Debra Messing was uncomfortable from the moment it started. It was so out of the ordinary, it had fans questioning if she "does her homework" before shows! Keep reading to find out what happened.
Giuliana opened the interview by essentially asking Debra why she was at the awards show. "Oh you're presenting tonight," she said.
The Will & Grace star politely corrected her saying, "No, no I'm not." That prompted the E! News host to ask, "Are all the cast here?" The actress then said, "No, Will & Grace is not nominated."
The interaction caused viewers to question Giuliana on Twitter. One user wrote, "Giuliana just came short of asking Debra Messing ‘Why are you here?’ #ERedCarpet #GoldenGlobes."

"Does Giuliana even do her homework? Super awkward seeing her ask Debra Messing where her co-stars were. The show wasn't even nominated #GoldenGlobes," wrote another person.
This wasn't their Giuliana and Debra’s first awkward moment on a red carpet. While the actress was being interviewed by the TV personality at last year's Golden Globes, Debra grabbed the mic and said she stood with Catt Sadler, who had just resigned from E! due to payment conflicts between her and co-host Jason Kennedy.
