July 30 2015, Updated 10:25 p.m. ET
Since the late Whitney Houston’s marriage to Bobby Brown in 1992, the Houstons and Browns have faced numerous reports of feuding among the two large families.
The tension between the two groups seemed to quiet down following Whitney and Bobby’s divorce in 2007. But upon the tragic hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina Brown in January and her heartbreaking passing in July, reports quickly began to grow that the Houstons and Browns were again facing serious family trouble!
Many fans blamed Bobby for Whitney’s admitted spiral into drug abuse. But there were also reports that the Houstons weren’t too fond of Nippy's husband either.
But when Bobbi Brown left Whitney’s 2012 funeral after reportedly being blocked from sitting with Bobbi Kristina, the families’ decades-long issues appeared to be reignited.
Following her passing, there is now talk that Bobbi Kristina’s family is preparing for a possible legal battle over her estate. Whitney’s will clearly laid out exactly how the estate should be divided in the case that Bobbi Kris passed away before receiving all three installment of her inheritance -- the 22-year-old only received one before her death. But family sources told RadarOnline.com the Houstons are ready to battle her father Bobby if he decides to take a grab at the funds in the estate.
Whitney and Bobby wed on July 18, 1992, and welcomed their only child, Bobbi Kristina, on March 4, 1993. Their tumultuous relationship was marked with rumors of drug abuse among other troubling issues, and the pair ultimately finalized their divorce in 2007.
Whitney later admitted in an interview with Oprah that Bobbi Kris witnessed some of the trouble in her and Bobby's relationship. And in the telling interview, she also revealed that at one point, her own mother, Cissy Houston, came to the door of her home to force Whitney to get help.
Following the couple’s split, things settled down for Whitney, and the Houstons and Browns’ feud seemed to quiet down greatly.
