James Van Der Beek's Wife Kimberly Shares Heartbreaking Miscarriage Details
James Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly is sharing details about her heartbreaking miscarriage. In a candid Instagram video, she opened up about the loss and provided followers with an update on her health.
“My biggest thing is my blood pressure,” Kimberly explained on her Instagram Stories. “A lot of blood transfusion action this weekend, so I’m just taking it super easy trying to restore and build my blood.”
The mom of four previously revealed that she was rushed to the hospital after the tragic miscarriage. “In 48 hours we lost our baby — boy, by the way — and I almost lost my life,” she shared at the time.
In her latest update she assured followers that she was slowly but surely getting better. “I am healing,” Kimberly said. “I am definitely healing....... I just get very lightheaded very easily so I can’t really get up and walk around for more than a couple minutes right now.”
James, 42, first shared the news in a heart-wrenching segment during Dancing With the Stars on Monday, November 18. “The little soul that we had expected to welcome in our family took a shortcut to whatever lies beyond,” he told viewers before adding, “You never know why these things happen. That's what I've been telling my kids. All you know is that it brings you closer together.”

“You never know why these things happen,” he continued. “That's what I've been telling my kids. All you know is that it brings you closer together."
James explained that though he had no plans to finish the competition, his wife encouraged him to continue his run. “Kimberly from her hospital bed said to me, 'I am not done watching you dance,’” he said.
After his emotional appearance, the Dawson’s Creek star and his dance partner Emma Slater were eliminated at the end of the episode, a decision that judge Carrie Ann Inaba said made her physically sick.
“As a human being, what he and his wife Kimberly suffered is heartbreaking and I have so much sadness in my heart for them and my prayers are with them,” she said during The Talk. “But, you know, this is when it’s really hard is that, as a judge, I have to judge the dance.” She explained that after filming, she went home and vomited.
