From Leah Messer’s ex-husband Corey Simms winning full custody of their twin daughters to Jeremy Calvert expected to follow his lead, not many people are in the Teen Mom 2 star’s corner. That is, until now! Kailyn Lowry defended her co-star against the backlash she has received lately.
“I think taking care of yourself as a person and a mother first is always important,” Kail, 23, told RadarOnline. “And if she has to go through some bumps in the road to get into a healthy place, then nobody should knock her for it.”
The Love is Bubblegum author commended her co-star for entering rehab over the summer for stress and depression.
Although Kail hasn’t spoken to Leah in weeks, she has stayed in touch with her second ex-husband Jeremy, 27. In an effort to not be in the middle of their split, she doesn’t ask questions about their relationship. “I want to stay out of that as much as possible because I feel like it’s such a touchy subject and I don’t want to step on any toes or anything,” she explained. “We just talk more of like work and stuff like that and the kids.”

With Corey and Miranda raising Ali and Aleeah, 5, during the week and their newborn daughter Remington, Kail had advice for the growing family. “I wish them the best and just patience,” she said. “I never even had twins, but I know that kids take patience. They know that.”

While Kail considers her co-star to be a good mother, the recent reports regarding Leah prove otherwise. According to In Touch, Leah allegedly swiped $20,000 from her twin daughters’ bank accounts to buy her mother a new home.
