Kevin Hart Breaks His Silence One Month After Scary Car Accident

Kevin Hart broke his silence for the first time on Thursday, October 10 following his scary car accident just one month ago. The comedian issued a statement through his attorneys and wished the other passengers involved in the wreck, pals Jared Black and Rebecca Broxterman, a speedy recovery.
"I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery," Kevin said in a statement to E! News.
Kevin, 40, and friends Jared and Rebecca crashed off the side of the Mulholland Highway in Los Angeles into a ditch in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda around 1 a.m. on Sunday, September 1. The Night School star's security team rushed him from the scene of the accident to his Calabasas home before calling 911. An unidentified woman who placed the 911 call could be heard telling the dispatcher on the recording that Kevin "was not coherent at all" and "couldn't move."
Doctors determined Kevin suffered three spinal fractures that required immediate surgery. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star went under the knife and was released from the hospital on September 11. He is expected to make a full recovery but he will require months of extensive physical therapy.

Kevin shocked fans by returning to work to shoot promos for Jumanji on Wednesday, October 9. Although he was allegedly mobile and in good spirits, his attorney Andrew Brettler clarified that Kevin's day on set did not mean he was ready to resume his career commitments in a full capacity.
"Kevin has not been in full costume for these shoots and he's not walking much for them either —sitting through most of the day — even though he can walk on his own. Kevin doesn't anticipate going back to work full time until early next year, assuming everything stays on track with his physical therapy," Andrew explained to E! News.
In the days following the accident, rumors circulated that Kevin was eager to downplay the severity of his injuries so that he didn't jeopardize the multiple projects he had in the pipeline. He has received words of encouragement and support from many of his A-list friends, including Tiffany Haddish and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
