Kylie Jenner is sounding off after the reality TV star was accused of wearing blackface makeup in photos she posted on Instagram over the weekend.
Jenner ignited a fuss among her social media followers when she uploaded a few images on Instagram from a recent photo shoot she did. Many people felt the images looked to show Jenner in blackface, with numerous users blasting her for the pictures.
On Sunday, Jenner finally decided to give her take on the images. She denied the use of blackface in the shots and gave a detailed description of how the photographer achieved the look.
“The photographer used a black light & neon lights for those photos,” Jenner said in a Twitter post.
And she repeated her claims on Instagram, telling her users that it was just “a black light and neon lights people lets all calm down."
Zendaya’s response was a little more confusing. She initially praised Jenner for the shots by commenting on one of the pictures on IG. But after facing some backlash from her own fans for lauding the controversial images, Zendaya changed her opinion on the snaps. “At first, I saw more of an avatar look but thank y'all for keepin me on point....we all gotta stay aware of what image we project #lessons,” Zendaya said.
