According to reports, the Hunger Games actor filed documents in Los Angeles, and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
Additionally, Miley and Liam signed a pre-nup before they got married in order to keep their money separate during their marriage. They also have no kids, so there won’t be a painful child custody battle.
The former couple initially announced their separation on August 10, splitting after only eight months of being husband and wife.

The day prior to the shocking news of their split, Miley was spotted making out with Kaitlynn Carter in Italy, and then returned to Los Angeles together to spend time with Miley’s mom.
Liam spent time with his family in Australia days following the announcement, and also released his own statement on Instagram wishing the pop star “nothing but health and happiness.”
Their on-again, off-again relationship lasted for ten years, but Miley’s rumored infidelity and Liam’s alleged penchant for “whiskey and pills” led to the couple’s ultimate demise.
Sources close to Miley and Liam also claim that even though Miley has been out with someone else, she wants to resolve their marriage, and Liam is ready to move on.
