Luann, 53, told costars Bethenny Frankel, Barbara Kavovit and another pal about the incident during dinner. “I was fixed on it. I had to have it, I was manic,” she told the trio, who were part of the intervention that led her to seek treatment again in July.
“Believe me, I called everybody I knew for $6 million. There weren’t many on the list, and Dennis was one of them,” the countess confessed. “I wanted that house more than anything, I would have sold my soul at that point. That’s how bad it was," she added.
She then tried to sell her house in the Hamptons to complete the purchase, but her kids and ex-husband prevented her from doing so. She said that caused her to relapse.

“I had been sober for months and gradually, I had a little glass of wine here, a little glass of wine there. And then having this lawsuit with my kids was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” she said in her on-camera interview.
Bethenny also addressed the intervention in the episode. "That night on intervention weekend, there was an emergency. Luann had been making a lot of irrational financial decisions,” the Skinnygirl founder said. “She got mad at me and was telling everyone, ‘Bethenny is a bad person because she won’t give me $6 million for this house,'” she added.
A month later, Dennis died of an overdose. He was found in his apartment on August 10.
